⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Simple, Delicious, and Feels Like Family Peppino Kensington is an absolute Kensington favourite. It’s a small deli/sandwich shop with a big heart. The family atmosphere is immediately felt—warm, friendly, and welcoming every time. The service is always fantastic, and the food is consistently fresh, delicious, and made with care. Their sandwiches are next-level and clearly crafted with quality ingredients and pride. It’s the kind of place you pop into once and then keep coming back to. Highly recommended for amazing sandwiches and even better people.
Sandwich snob here, presenting one of the better Italian sandwiches in the city. The classic w- pickles and onions is *chefs kiss* Just a side note, from experience, their Kensington location is the best of them with the freshest bread
Best sandwich in the city! I tried the pizza sandwich during my first visit to Peppino and it was sooo satisfying! I’m not even a huge fan of sandwiches, but the meat, bread, veggies were so complimentary and well balanced that I’ve found myself craving for more weeks after. Very reasonably priced, especially these days, given the quality and quantity. They also have a $5 daily pasta special that I’m very excited to try. My only regret is not having been here sooner.
Now this is true Italian cooking, no fluff or tasteless foux authenticity this stuff is the real deal. Great, friendly customer service, fantastic filling food and a quaint grass roots feel. Could not recommend enough!
Excellent sandwiches from this Italian deli. You have your choice of white or brown bread. Would highly recommend the Joe's Special and the Prosciutto. Add some roasted red peppers to the Prosciutto especially. Their lunch specials are decent as well, I usually try it if it's pasta, which is decent. But it's the sandwiches that steal the spotlight in this deli. Has a few tables and stools inside. Service is always great. I would also mention parking in the area is usually a pain in the butt, but all things considered, is very well worth it for those sandwiches. May 2025 update: been about a year since the review, came back to try them and found out that Joe has since retired and it is now his son and the rest of his family that is operating this location. Fortunately the quality and quantity is still there - Joe's Special, Riches of Italy, and the Classic Ham sandwiches were all great as usual.
